Why when we learn about WW2 at school do we not talk about the many Sikhs who fought for Britain?

Members of the British Commonwealth that assisted in both WWI and WWII are largely forgotten because they returned to their home countries, and the people that wrote the most about the wars were from Britain. So the people writing the text books wrote about those around them only and largely forgot others.
